Freshwater

Turn sea water in to usable freshwater with our sea water desalination unit.

Freshwater refers to bodies of water containing low concentrations of dissolved salts and other total dissolved solids. Freshwater is an important renewable resource that is derived from our desalination unit.

Water is desalinated in order to be converted to freshwater suitable for human consumption. The focus of the desalination process is on developing cost-effective ways of providing fresh water for consumptions on ships. Our solution is, to reuse the waste heat in the jacket cooling water of the Diesel engine for heating and evaporation of the sea water in the freshwater generator.

We develop and manufacture freshwater Generators with separate ejector pump supplying sea feed water as well as seawater to both the ejector and the condenser from a separate seawater intake – installations that will not interfere with the main seawater cooling system, as well as freshwater generators with built-in ejector pump, which is supplied with seawater from the main seawater cooling system of the ship. Furthermore, we also have a freshwater pump product line.

Atlas Danmark has for more than 50 years, been developing and manufacturing systems for desalination and generation of freshwater.
